The nine-square court plan provides three distinct settings. A palm shaded Reception Court informs visitors of the history and significance of the astronauts endeavors. Similar palm shaded Contemplative Courts contain profile reliefs and vitaes of the deceased astronauts. In the Central Memorial Court a perpetual flame and the absence of vegetation engender inspiration and solemnity.
